30 Best SEO Tips & Components for Webmasters

According to my continue research on SEO for last 2 years and my own testing, I can say that it is just a technique to know the Search Engines’ bots algorithms and criteria properly. There aren’t anything hidden in this. Search engines like Google itself has stated many times the best practices of SEO on their help pages. One can visit Google’s own sites and within 10 minutes can clear his/her concept about SEO.

I’m myself researching and learning SEO since 2010, and I found a countless number of tips on the internet, however, my own implementation worked well and that’s my experience.

From my prospective, SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a technique/process that is used to convince the Search Engine’s Spiders to index and rank your online content. As Search engines crawlers are just software not human, but to know about them you can read their coding/formulas. Now here I want to let you know about the 30 basic aspects of SEO. So make sure you remember them and use them in the future for explaining SEO to someone.

1. What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it was initially used in 1990s for finding better webpages by Search Engines, but after Google’s invention, it opened the eyes of webmasters.

2. On-Page SEO

On-page SEO simply means, the work you do within your website for SEO is called On-page i.e website design, navigation, Pagelayout, interlinking, titles, meta tags, headings etc.

3. Off-Page SEO

Off-Page SEO simply means, the work you do outside your website for SEO is called off-page i.e submitting site to search engines, sitemaps, backlinks, social bookmarking etc.

4. Title Tags

The title tag is the most important SEO component which is used for giving a title to a webpage. It is simply an HTML tag.

5. Meta Tags

Meta tags are special/reserved HTML tags that are used to describe the content of a webpage. These tags are commonly used in SEO terms. Usually, meta tags are: Description, Keywords, Author, Robots, Generator. And they are used in the head section of a webpage.

6. Headings

Headings are also important components of SEO, a webpage may be having many paragraphs, so for each paragraph we can use different headings. Always sorting for Headings is as follow: H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6.

7. Keywords

The special/reserved words that describe the whole page is called keyword or keywords. They are mostly included in the title tag and used again and again in the entire page.

8. Keyword Density

The limit of a keywords in a complete article is called Keyword density. The maximum keyword density is 3% percent for the whole page. So if you write an article of 500 words the keyword may be included 15 times but not more than that.

9. Keyword Stuffing & Cloaking

This is a black hat SEO technique which is no longer accepted by Search Engines. This technique is used to cheat search engine crawlers; by using this technique some webmasters include a huge number of keywords in meta tags or in the page. Also they use different techniques to deceive visitors as well as search engines i.e hiding the original text from the user or positioning it somewhere, where it can’t be seen by human eyes.

10. Robots, Spiders & Crawlers

These are search engines software/system/algorithms which discover new webpages on the web and index them in their servers. These three names give the same meaning.

11. Internal Links

Interlinking is a technique which is used to create links within a website with particular pages.

12. External Links

This is a technique that is used to insert external links in a webpage, these links are indicating to other websites. If the links are not kept Nofollow then they are crawled by search engine robots.

13. Inbound links

Inbound links are those links that are outside your website on the web, but linking back to you. It is an indication for search engines that your site has been also somewhere else.

14. Outbound Links

Outbound links are those links that are going outside from your website. If they are not kept Nofollow they can be crawled by Search Engines crawlers.

15. Backlinks

Backlinks are those links which are outside your website but indicating back to your website. Those links with Dofollow attribution are called Backlinks. The other are just outbound links.

16. Nofollow

It is an attribute that tells the search engine crawler not to follow a particular page or link. So if a website dosn’t want to index a webpage or link, simply a nofollow attribute is added.

17. Dofollow

Dofollow is an attribute that tells the search engine crawler to follow the webpage or link entirely. By default all links are dofollow if they are not changed.

18. No Index

No Index is another attribute that instructs the crawler to not index the webpage. The link can be followed but the content won’t be indexed.

19. Sitemaps

Sitemaps are the best way to tell the search engines about your site’s complete A to Z content. It is essential for driving massive traffic from search engines.

20. Robot.TXT

This is simply a text file that is kept in the root directory of a website, it instructs the search engine crawler about the restricted webpages or directories which shouldn’t be accessed by them.
21. Google Panda 
A Google search algorithm which is created for detecting low quality pages and websites with copied content.
22. Google Penguin
A google search algorithm that is designed to detect websites with spammy links, over-optimization, keyword stuffing and unnatural links.
23. C Class IP

This is something strange, but worth knowing, every website is given a unique IP address, so if you have a single hosting account and have multiple sites hosted on that, then the C Class maybe the same and the C class is the third number of the IP for example; 22.33.44.55, so the 44 is C class, if this is the same for multiple websites then if one website was penalized by Google, the other websites on the same IP may also be caught.

24. Domain Authority (DA)

This is a ranking based on the age of the domain, the backlinks to the domain and the overall ranking of the domain. So domain authority ranking may be vary for every website, above 30 DA ranking is considered good and above 50 is the best.

25. Page Authority (PA)

This is something very interesting, the page authority or PA ranking is different for each web page on the web, but mostly people try to know about their Home page PA.

26. Link Popularity
This is another term which is used for knowing the link popularity of any web page, people however, are only happy with home page link popularity, but you can check every page’s link popularity.
27. Page Rank (PR)
Page Rank is given by Google to every website/blog on the internet, and it is based on the total number of links/backlinks a website has. This is a numeric ranking starts from 0 and the highest value is 10. So your site can get any PR from 0 out of 10.
28. Alexa Traffic Rank (ATR)
This is not directly related to SEO, but considered to be in touch with SEO, so it is a traffic ranking system, Alexa gives traffic rank to each website on the web.
29. Author Rank (AR)
This is a new term introduced by Google recently, this will be involving in SEO because if the author (Web master) of the website is having good ranking then his website will be given more exposure by Google.

Learn Google Panda & Penguin in Urdu & Hindi

Google Panda and penguin are two major search algorithms from Google, these algorithms were released previous year to find low quality and spam websites on the web and to remove them from search index. The first algo Panda was released by Google in February 2012, which affected thousands of websites including big names such as shoutmeloud.com, and the last version of this update was 25, and Google says; they will not release any more Panda update in the future because this is now the regular part of Google search algorithms.

While Penguin was release two months later from the Panda, it’s first version was released in April 2012, and there are many  major and minor Updates have taken place so far. So keep in mind that Google is cleaning the web from spam and bad websites. You’ll have to now produce great work for your website in order to be the part of search engines.

Having watched the video I hope you’ve got everything about Panda and Penguin and how to make yourself safe from these updates. But here I’d give you some points for which these two updates were released.

What does Panda Do?

Panda was particularly released for detecting/finding websites which were producing low quality content, copying other’s content and re-publishing, so it did that and banned thousands of websites. Now make sure you only work originally by yourself and produce quality content which actually help the people in real life, as I do.

What does Penguin do?

Penguin was another major Player by Google, which was released to detect/find sites that are over-optimizing their sites, doing keyword stuffing, using bad SEO techniques such as Black-hat SEO tactics, linking unnaturally and some more minor factors were included. So you can make sure to not do these things while optimizing your site.

SEO Keyword Density Video Tutorial in Urdu & Hindi

Keyword Density in SEO is a very important component and everyone should be having awareness of it. I’ve created a video tutorial in Urdu and Hindi languages which can guide you that how you can measure your articles’ Keyword density in order to make it balanced for search engines. So that they can’t ban you for over optimization or something bad you’ve done to them. Let’s watch the video first and below the video I’ll guide you further.

Having watched the video tutorial I hope you’ve taken it seriously, but let me explain it to you in a little more details.

What is Keyword Density?

The keyword density is the percentage of words/keywords in your article, if you’ve written an article of 500 words then you can maximally use the keyword in the article 15 times, because 3% percent is the highest degree of keyword density, however, you should be trying to use 2%.

For example: if you have written an article about SEO Tips in 2013 then the SEO word is the main keyword along with the tips, so you can only use the word SEO 2% in your entire article, you can use word counter software or tools to count your total words and then find the keyword as well. This all is described in the video tutorial above, however here is a tool which can make the job easier for you, do use it:

SEO Nofollow & Dofollow Links in Urdu & Hindi

Here is a quick video tutorial in Urdu and Hindi languages for learning different sort of Links in SEO and especially the Nofollow links and Dofollow links. The tutorial will guide you practically about these links and you’ll come to know about how to use them properly in your website/blog. However, I’d guide you here about them a little bit.

What is a nofollow link?

A link becomes nofollow for search engines when the rel=nofollow HTML attribute is added to it, however, is something is not added then the link is by default dofollow. So when nofollow attribute is added, then the link is not followed by search engines’ robots. However, the anchor text inside the link is crawled and index by robots. Nofollow link doesn’t help in increasing Page Rank, though, Dofollow does.

What is a Dofollow link?

Each link is by default dofollow until the nofollow attribute is added, however, rel=dofollow attribute can also be added to links for making it sure that the link is a permanent dofollow link. Dofollow helps a lot in increasing page rank dramatically, but the condition is, if you have dofollow links for your site from higher ranking sites and relevant as well.

Other sort of Similar Attributes

• NoIndex: this means to not index the content of the page
• Index: means index each and everything
• index,nofollow: means index the page but not follow the links inside the page
• noindex,follow: means follow the links but do not index the page
• noimage: this means do not index the images inside the page
• Index,follow: this means that both the content and links should be followed and indexed

Also some kind of references which are used for different links:

• Outbound links: These links are those links going to other sites from your site
• Inbound links: these links are coming to your site
• External Links: links which are going outside from your site
• Internal Links: links which are to pages within your site
• Backlinks: these are actually dofollow links which are given respect by search engines

So keep these points in mind while using the links in SEO, however, there are many other attributes as well. Which I can teach you in a later tutorial or post.

Just enter your email in that box only if you want to receive the updates (new content) straight in your email inbox, and after entering your email address you must login to your email account at the same moment, because a verification for that email is immediately sent after your subscription. So you need to verify your email in order be subscribed to any website. After logging into your email account, just find the email that you just received from feedburner, and there will be a link saying click for confirming your email, just click that and you are done.

I recently visited UAE and upon a request of a friend who is teaching in a college in UAE,  I quickly prepared a presentation on making money online on the internet, which I had to deliver in that college in UAE but due to some unknown reasons it was postponed. I have that presentation with me, which I thought to share with you here on this blog, so you may take some ideas and points from it.

In this presentation I’ll post all the information here including; why its necessary to make money today and what are the reasons to start online business or online job. We’ll also look at the potentials that online work has for us, and we’ll further look at the requirements we must have in order to be consistent businessman and entrepreneur for a long time. Here we go:
